Keith Levit - President
Keith Levit joined his father at Lakeview in 1983. Keith has brought an extremely creative and innovative approach to Lakeview as well as the solid academic credentials of a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s degree in Real Estate and Regional Sciences from the prestigious Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Keith Levit established a global presence for Lakeview, opening offices in Hong Kong and Taiwan and an agent base covering Europe and Asia. Keith successfully brought together a pool of more than one thousand investors from around the world, raising more than $150 million. Keith’s efforts provided equity financing for the construction of a Radisson All-Suite Hotel and office building complex, a Sheraton Hotel, as well as twelve Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Hotels across Canada. Keith Levit has successfully negotiated the acquisition of eleven of the Country Inn properties by Lakeview and a subsequent sale of 7 of these properties to Royal Host REIT, with Lakeview retaining long term management and license agreements on all of these properties.
For the past several years Keith has led a team of professionals in the development of the Lakeview Inns & Suites concept and in the expansion of Lakeview Hotels across Canada and the United States. To this end, Keith Levit founded and is the President of the Lakeview Hotel Real Estate Investment Trust.
Keith is an accomplished photographer with an international reputation for his distinctive work. Keith has donated a tremendous amount of his time and energy and his photographic works to his favorite causes.
Avrum Senensky, MBA - Executive Vice President
Avrum Senensky started with Lakeview in 1990 after working as a financial advisor for a national Canadian securities firm. Mr. Senensky has been with Lakeview REIT since its inception in 2004, serving as Vice-President of Finance and Investor Relations. Mr. Senensky played a key role in establishing Lakeview REIT and in securing over $160 million in financing for the 18 hotels acquired by the REIT.
Mr. Senensky is an honours graduate of the Canadian Securities Course and the Canadian Options course from the Canadian Securities Institute in Toronto, Canada and received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Manitoba. Mr.Senensky was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President of Lakeview REIT in January, 2010.
Rudy Beyer, B.Comm. (Hons), C.A. - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Beyer joined Lakeview in 1997 bringing with him over sixteen-years of experience in real estate development, financial reporting, accounting, cash management and property management. He is a member of the Manitoba and the Canadian Institutes of Chartered Accountants. Mr. Beyer obtained his C.A. accreditation with Price Waterhouse & Co. in 1979 and held management positions with a major Canadian developer before joining Lakeview. Mr. Beyer acts as Chief Financial Officer for Lakeview Hotel REIT.
Henry Traa, CHA - Vice President – Hotel Development
Mr. Traa began his career in 1978 as a bus boy in the Winnipeg Inns. Working his way up through almost every position in a number of hotels throughout Canada, he has acquired a wealth of operational experience. In 1985, Mr. Traa joined the Lakeview group and was responsible for its Food & Beverage division. He then became General Manager of the one hundred sixty-room Radisson All Suite Hotel near the Winnipeg Airport and retained that position for seven years. In 1998, Mr. Traa was hired as Vice President of Hotel Development at Lakeview’s head office. Mr. Traa supervises the operations of Lakeview Inns & Suites and Lakeview Resort Hotels, the Four Points Sheraton Hotel at the Winnipeg Airport, their respective Food & Beverage operations as well as Lakeview’s chain of Ichiban Japanese Steak Houses. Mr. Traa is Treasurer of the Manitoba Hotel Association where he also serves on the Executive Committee. His Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) Designation was received in 1994.
Chris Watt - Vice President – Operations
Mr. Watt was promoted to Lakeview’s hospitality division in 1990 from the Company’s securities division. Shortly thereafter, he became responsible for overall performance of Lakeview’s limited service hotels and is credited for the numerous awards won by Lakeview in outstanding performance and guest satisfaction at its Country Inns & Suites By Carlson managed properties.
Mr. Watt has over twenty years of experience in full service and limited service, brand affiliated hotels operations. He is a recent recipient of the coveted “President’s Diamond Hospitality Award” from Country Inns & Suites By Carlson and served as the Canadian Representative for the Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Franchise Advisory Committee (1998-2005). With the inception of the Lakeview Hotel Real Estate Investment Trust, Mr. Watt has assumed operational responsibility for the REIT hotel portfolio.
