The Lakeview Inn & Suites Chetwynd was acquired in October, 2006 and was converted from a Days Inn to a Lakeview Inn & Suites upon acquisition. This 59 room, four storey property which opened in January, 2006, features a continental breakfast room, a business centre and a confectionary store. Chetwynd is located in Northeastern BC, approximately 170 kilometres southwest of the Lakeview Inn & Suites in Fort St. John. The Chetwynd area is rich in oil, gas, coal and timber. The four largest employers in Chetwynd are Tembec, Canadian Forest Products, Chetwynd Forest Industries, and Duke Energy. The economy of Chetwynd is diverse and stable.
