The Lakeview Inn & Suites Fort Saskatchewan was acquired in January, 2006 as a Best Western and converted to a Lakeview Inn & Suites in July, 2006. This 70 room four storey, limited service facility opened in 1998 and includes approximately 4,790 square feet of meeting room space, an exercise room and a 4,500 square foot leased restaurant (Mojo’s Restaurant). Fort Saskatchewan is located approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Edmonton. Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding areas form the Industrial Heartland which is a joint venture designed to attract companies in the oil and gas sector, benefiting from the current infrastructure of numerous pipelines, two railways and five major highways. Major employers in Fort Saskatchewan include Dow Chemical Canada, Sherrit International and Shell Canada. The outlook for Fort Saskatchewan is very positive with several major oil and gas projects proposed.
